1972 Roadster Restoration -
The continuation of the restoration process. Click the thumbnails for

Above left shows the fascia with the new
padded front cemented into place. This new dash pad is a good solution for
your cracked fascia. One thing to watch out for - fascias, that have the
glove box, have a rigid foam block on the passenger side that forms the area
around the glove box door. While removing your old padded front, be
careful to NOT cut into or remove the rigid foam block. This does not come
with a new dash pad. The photo above right shows the fascia with
instruments in place. More work needs to be done here to finish wrapping
the new dash pad around the top and bottom and place the switches and heater
controls.
Left shot shows the new windscreen glass and
frame placed in position. Like a lot of others that have worked on their
windscreen, I found this to be the most frustrating part of the process.
Also shown, is the cockpit as it is now. I'm starting to ready the wiring
harness and all other items behind the fascia before I install it.
Photo above left show the new heatshield
in place. Middle photo shows the carbs positioned and some new
braided gas lines in place. Above right shows the reconditioned air
cleaner assemblies in place for a test fit.
A couple of photos show the current state
of the engine compartment. And, the new Falcon stainless exhaust system.

product and some more recent photos from shows

The series of photos to the left show the
progression of the car from a front view. It's hard to believe, but these
represent over four years of progress. Some might say "What's taking
so long??"
This is Moss' Light Tan interior
kit. I was happy with the overall results and the quality was pretty
good. I believe the instructions could have been a little more detailed
and give some helpful hints. Now that I've done it once, I'll know better
next time.
